Preset Rules: Product Keywords

Product Keywords allows you to automatically tag your products in your Shopify store based on keywords found in the product information.

Smart Tags will look for the specified keyword in the product details, and tag the product if the keyword is found. If the product gets updated and the keyword was removed, the tag will be removed as well.

Smart Tags can be specified to search for the keyword in any of the following:

• product title
• product description text body
• product description raw HTML body

You can create as many keywords as you like, and you can specify where to search for each keyword.

Edit and enable Product Keywords preset

1. Select Presets tab in the Smart Tag Rules table
   
2. For Product Keywords preset rule, click Edit
   
3. Fill in the options available for Product Keyword preset rule to create your first keyword tag rule.

4. Optional: Click on Add another keyword to create additional keyword tag rules.
5. Check Enable rule checkbox to enable the rule
6. Remember to click Save to keep changes or Cancel to discard changes

Add keyword tag rule

1. Select Presets tab in the Smart Tag Rules table
   
2. For Product Keywords preset rule, click Edit
3. In the edit page for Product Keywords, click Add another keyword
   
4. Fill in the form fields for the keyword tag rule.

5. Remember to click Save to keep changes or Cancel to discard changes.

Product Keywords preset allows you to have multiple keyword tag rules. The following table shows the options available for each keyword tag rule:

Example uses

Tag products that has keyword in the title

The following option will tag all products with the tag label red-shirt if the keyword Red Shirt is found in the product title.

Tag products that has keyword in the description

The following option will tag all products with the tag label red-shirt if the keyword Red Shirt is found in the product description body text.

Tag products that has keyword in the description HTML

The following option will tag all products with the tag label red-shirt if the keyword Red Shirt is found in the product body raw HTML.

Tag products that has keyword with multiple tag labels

You can apply multiple tag labels to product with a specified keyword by creating multiple keyword tag rules.

The following example shows options that will tag all product with tag labels red-shirt and shirt if the keyword Red Shirt is found in the product title.

Tag products that has multiple keywords with the same tag label

You can apply the same tag to products that has different multiple keyword by creating multiple keyword tag rules.

The following example shows options that will tag all product with the tag label shirt if the keywords Red Shirt or Sleeved Top is found in the product title.
